Avon Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)
|
|
We have an exciting new opportunity for Central NY schools! Starting this September, the Syracuse Shakespeare Festival is touring a repertory company, Avon Repertory Theatre, (ART) especially designed to meet the needs of schools based on the New York State Learning Standards. The actors and directors are hard at work mounting 45 minute versions of Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We are offering these productions to the schools at the premiere year price of only $400 for the show of choice in the space of choice.
We are very pleased and proud to have the opportunity to bring the exciting world of live, professional theatre to your school, saving you the mounting costs of transportation and fuel and bringing your students the characters of the Bard as they’ve never seen them before. For more information, call (315) 476-1835. |

press release press release press release ART Brings Shakespeare to Your Students: No Buses or Permission Slips Needed Avon Repertory Theatre Has Shows Booked @ F-M and The Oasis Center
The SSF’s inaugural season of the Avon Repertory Theatre (ART) has been a rousing success. After fabulous shows at Tully Elementary, Grant Middle, Fabius-Pompey H.S. & Jamesville-Dewitt H.S. the company has been booked to perform Midsummer for the F-M Shakespeare’s Birthday (his 443rd) Celebration on Monday, April 23rd and Hamlet at The Oasis Center in Dewitt’s Shoppingtown Mall on Friday, June 22nd. More than 1,000 students from grades 4 through 12 have been given scores of reasons to giggle, guffaw and laugh loudly at the antics of the, "mechanicals," featuring Tom Holmes, Jane Keegan, Robert Reid and Adam Mance and the outrageous sight of Brian Hensley’s Bottom with an ass’ head as Elizabeth Holmes’ Titania is fooled into loving him by Adam Mance’s Oberon with the mischievous help of Will Dougherty’s Puck. Who knew Shakespeare could be so much fun? More than 700 have been caught up in one of the greatest love stories ever: Romeo & Juliet. You still have time to book Hamlet, Midsummer or Romeo and Juliet before our first season ends. Our booking weeks are 3/26-3/30, 4/23-4/27, 5/29-6/1 and 6/18-6/22/07.
